Laser Tattoo Removal

All tattoos are a conversation starter. Some are worn for the world to see and some are more intimate for your own self or a select audience!

Some love their tattoos, it signifies a date, a loved one, an ideology or a phase in life to cherish. However, sometimes a tattoo can be a curse, personally or professionally, a regret, or simply put some of us outgrow to love our tattoos, worse even we start to hate them. If you have been contemplating erasing a particular tattoo or lighting a particular tattoo to do a new coverup tattoo over it then at Everything Skin & Hair we have both, the most advanced lasers to address the same and also the experience to guide you through the process.

Can I remove my tattoo?

The short answer is Yes.

But the long answer is not that simple. During the process of getting a tattoo made, the artist will push ink particles into the deep dermal layers of the skin with the tattoo needle vibrating into the skin a few hundred times a second. This traps the large molecules of the ink with the skin, where it can not escape and hence is permanent.

Each tattoo varies, making the process of removal also variable. There are many factors to be considered:

  • How old is the tattoo
  • The ink used
  • Depth of the needle
  • Concentration and composition of pigment
  • Body area
  • Medical conditions if any
  • Keloidal or scarring tendencies

How long will it take?

As discussed earlier, we need time after a laser session for our body to flush the pigment out. Hence it’s imperative to keep an interval of 4 to 8 weeks between sessions. The interval will increase as the number of sessions increases. It’s always good to plan a year or two ahead

Is there a risk of scarring?

The risk of scarring is real. That's why at Everything Skin and Hair we do an in depth assessment and use proven treatment protocols to safely escalate the laser energy to avoid any scarring.

Can we speed up the process?

At Everything Skin & Hair we understand the need to provide faster results. We use the latest combination of lasers and protocols to help you achieve the same.

What happens during and after the laser?

We apply a numbing cream under occlusion for about an hour before the session. During your session the dermatologist will decide the protocol to be used. The laser blasts the pigment making the tattoo instantly white/frosted. Sometimes, we ice the tattoo and may repeat the session after 20 minutes.

The aftercare will involve the use of antibiotic cream, moisturiser and sunscreen.
